I spontaneously got into modeling at the age of eighteen, through bridal shows throughout the Netherlands. With size 40, I was immediately seen as the ‘plus-size’ face of the group, and frankly, that felt like a bonus: I always got to wear the most beautiful dresses.

A dream start that immediately showed me the pleasure of this profession. After my first pregnancy, my body changed due to hormonal shifts and I became fuller. To my own surprise, that meant not less, but more work. The number of assignments grew, and I discovered that there was room for different forms of beauty in this industry.

I have been working with pleasure for well-known labels such as MS Mode, Mart Visser, Knip Mode, Margriet, Libelle, Miss Etam and the German brand KIK for years. Whether it concerns fashion shows, fitting work or shoots for magazines – I still step into it with as much enthusiasm as when I started. Now that I’m fifty, my career is flourishing harder than ever. For me, that is proof that authenticity, professionalism and pleasure always remain visible.
